About the Work
The Joseph F. Smith Library at BYU–Hawaii is a central hub of academic life on campus — supporting students through research, scholarship and community engagement. As the student Graphic Designer and Social Media Manager, I was responsible for running the library's Instagram account and producing the bulk of its visual content output throughout the 2023–2024 academic year.
Instagram was my primary platform. I created and managed a high volume of graphics — promotional posts, event announcements, campaign visuals and story content — while maintaining a consistent and engaging visual identity for the library's student audience. Beyond static graphics, I produced short-form video content and reels, handled content photography for events, and turned around a large volume of creative work on a rolling basis.
This role pushed my production speed and creative range — designing across multiple formats, staying on-brand, and delivering content consistently. It was less about one big project and more about building a sustained creative output that kept the library visible, relevant and connected to the BYUH campus community.
